STUDENT PLACEMENT PROGRAM

Finding the right teacher is just as important as finding the right piano.  It could be for a child, several children, or for yourself. In any case, you want someone who will relate well with students and who has a good reputation with proven results.

In the past, some music stores would give you a list of teachers.  You would make numerous telephone calls and would find, in most cases, that the good teachers were filled up and had a waiting list.  There are other factors that must be addressed when looking for a teacher; does your children have allergies to animals?  You might find some of your calls reveal the teacher has pets.  Are you able to find decent days and times for lessons?  Are you knowledgeable in what to look for in a teacher?

This situation encouraged me to create a program that would take the frustration of finding a good teacher.  For the past 15 years, I have been finding good music teachers for students, and it has been very successful program. This is a free service, and I am not compensated by teachers or organizations for this service.  It is a program I believe that needs to be in place.

After your visit to the International Music (IMS) facility, I will have a better idea of personalities and other pertinent information that will help me find the right teacher for you.  I have a data bank of good teachers who keep me informed with any available slots and other information about themselves and their studios.  In many cases, these teachers are also sending students to me for placement when they have no slots.

Teachers who are a part of this program are well known to me, or new teachers who have gone through interviews with me to insure I am satisfied with their background. Many of them have their doctorate degrees, masters degrees or bachelors degrees in piano performance and pedagogy.  During your visit, I will also present you with a short briefing on Finding the Right Teacher.

If you are interested in finding a good teacher, call me at (719) 637-8081, or you can email me to arrange for an interview and directions to the facility.
